Just checking... This will either be an amazing venue or the Black Cat could end up ruining the show.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Torche album I just got done listening to. Excited to see them now too.

It was a good show.  Missed the 1st act, unfortunately.  I thought Torche's set was just unoriginal doom/stoner metal.  Not impressed.

Jesu sounded surprisingly good for the most part.  I knew they were going to lean heavily on material from Conqueror and those songs held up quite well live.  Some of the other material did not.  Justin's vocals were mixed low but that's the way they should be.

About half the crowd walked out and missed the encore.   :D   Wished they'd had copies of their first disc for sale but you can't have everything, I guess.

I missed the encore. What'd they play?

I liked Torche's set and thought it had more going for it than your run-of-the-mill doom metal. Totally agreed on Jesu, though.

Medicine was the encore.  Justin said the club had originally told him they couldn't do another song...and then changed their mind.  He'd shut everything down so it took a few minutes for them to get started again.

Oh, and we got another (shorter) lesson in feedback at the end.   :)

Torche borrowed a lot from the Melvins on the slower material.  The faster stuff was a nice change of pace but a lot of their stuff never seemed to go anywhere.

That feedback at the end was definitely a highlight.  :D

Yeah I'm a little surprised the club let them do an encore. It seems as though they like everything to be wrapped up at midnight. Fog didn't go on until about 8:50 though which may have pushed things back a bit.
