I'm saving up for Two If By Sea December 18th with Big In Japan and Co-Pilot at the Ottobar!

They were awesome opening for WSC two weeks ago.

Speaking of which, did I really see WSC across the bar last night as the house band on Carson Daly? What gives?

I heard they were also on one of the late night shows on Tuesday eve...

as for Two if By Sea, my reaction was "meh."  They sounded a lot like Interpol, but that's what you've got Interpol for (and of course they're pretty derivative too).   I'm kinda over bands that sound like other bands.

well, last night I decided to go to this show after all, and I was confronted with a band that I'd never heard of but was amazingly good... here's a decent review of them:

didn't catch Two if By Sea, I was still feeling ragged from Saccharine (curses!) and decided to hit the sack early.  Nice to see you Kurosawa.  :)

Isn't Big in Japan "Seth Cohen's band"?

Good to see you too, Doomie. It was a fun night. A bunch of friends actually turned up and the bands were in fine form. Well, The Good North and Two if by Sea, that is. I wasn't crazy about The Hurt.

Doh... I'm such an idiot... I thought the Hurt were Metropolitan because someone told me that's who was playing... I was wondering why their lineup had changed... hahahahaha

To Two If By Sea's defense/credit, when they formed/started, there was no sign of Interpol or any of those bands. But, if you really know Interpol & TIBS, there differences are clear-cut. I think TIBS are much more fun/exciting than Interpol

yeah, I should give them another chance, I was just feeling crotchety that day.  You get like that sometimes when you're a Doom-Doctor.
