Where to stay in DC?
« on: December 07, 2005, 12:30:00 pm »
I have every intention of being at the Pogues show on March 10.  Since its my first time ever in DC, could some natives direct me where to stay that would give me best proximity to the club, sights, bars, etc?  Rent a car or take the train?  Any input apreciated.  Thanks!

Where are you coming in from?  What's your price range?

Flying in from Atlanta.  Sharing room with a friend.  Don't need anything fancy but no fleabags either.  I guess $100 a night or so for two nights.

I heard ThatGuy and his gramma have a swinging pad out in Kensington, if you'd prefer the safety of the suburbs...not that he's volunteered the space...

Don't bother renting a car.  It's not necessary.  The metro or walking will be sufficient.

As for hotels, look in the Dupont Circle area.  The zipcode for that neighborhood is 20036 if you're at one of those hotel sites.
