 Riunite on ice, that's nice!
That's fantastic!  Though, in high school, my best friend carried a bottle of Riunite Lambrusco to parties, and I went with a Rosato....damn, I can't remember the 'Vineyard'...

omigolly, i'm counting on this show not selling out!  it completes the triumvirate of rock-rollery that is the first weekend in Oct.  Who else could cap off the great SFA/Grandaddy and then the superawesome Rainer Maria other than Doug Martsch?????

Excellent Saturday show by Built to Spill.  Could have done without the extended reggae jam in Cortez the Killer though.

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone out there who went to one of these shows who thinks that The Delusions DIDN'T suck?  I was at the Friday show, and they had to be one of the worst opening bands I've ever seen.  Maybe they would have been all right with their original bass player instead of Doug Martsch sitting in, but as they were . . . BLEAH!  The 9:30 Club web site had been saying all day that the order of the bands would be Delusions/Solace Brothers/BtS, and I've got to say that the Delusions were so incredibly lame that I was really annoyed that the web site turned out to be wrong.

Oh, and in line with the title of this thread, does anyone have a set list from the Friday show?

I wouldn't say they sucked, but they definitely weren't good, in my opinion.  Then again, i wasn't as impressed with Built to Spill's set as i thought i would be.  I left during the reggae jam, thinking that only for that sweet voice would i walk so dangerously on the cusp of jam band patronage.

Nobody commented on the Clash cover.  Was it that bad?

It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either.  A pretty straight-forward cover, which was a little surprising to me.  It sounded kind of cool with Doug's nasally singing, but over all, nothing to write home to ma about.  I was surprised, though, since not many people seemed to recognize the song at all.

Saturday's Clash cover wasn't that spectacular either.  It would have been nice to hear Reasons, but Carry the Zero made up for it.
