i'm terrible at reviews, but here are a few thoughts:
setlists differ very little on this tour. you know almost everything you'll hear, even the order in which it's played. songs are even announced via paintings in the second set.
first set is acoustic, just neil w/ guitar, harmonica, piano, and/or banjo. he's playing a wide variety of old stuff. "try" made its debut. after he got up from the piano he said something like, "i forgot a verse. i got it right in the dressing room. but that's okay, you don't know that one."
second set is with the band, and they're playing old & new. "no hidden path" off of the new album was CRAZY good; they totally rocked out. it felt bizzare with the crowd sitting until the end of "no hidden path". most stood and danced for the encore.
we headed to our seats early in pegi's set, and were made to wait in the lobby til the song finished. seems they did the same for neil's acoustic set.
it was a very good show. neil was charming and witty. someone shouted out a request, "old man!" neil: "hey, what did you call me?"
he's one of my faves. i've seen him a bunch of times prior, but i think that was the first i've heard him acoustic. if i had my way, i'd take him home with me so he could sing me to sleep every night
have fun tonight!!
