Bird and The Bee show at Rock N Roll Hotel
« on: November 17, 2007, 02:34:00 am »
Just got back from the show. I must say that  the Rock N Roll Hotel is alot more intimate than the 930 Club(because of the size). I thought the show was great. To me I consider it the White Apollo because if you're not good someone will throw a beer bottle at you. A pretty mixed crowd(under 100 people)(some age 40 +). A girl by me grooving to the beat made the show, dancing like it was a rock show/rave. The drink prices were pretty good too. I must say that trying to find a cab was pretty hard though but overall a good experience. The opener Charlie Wadhams was pretty good. I would consider him a Johny Depp looking("Crybaby")/ Bob Dylan type.

I was surprised at how incredibly rude the audience was during the opening act.  They were all talking the entire time and so loudly you could barely hear Charlie.  He was actually quite good, too, not that anyone noticed.

It was the first time I've seen TB&TB without a full band and backup singers, and they did a great job all by themselves.  The set got a little slow at the end.  But it was a good show.

Also, don't count on getting a cab after shows at RnR - just call for the FREE shuttle that will take you to Union Station where you can get a cab, a metro or a bus or even a train if you need one.
