I hate house of love...

for giving all their albums the same name.

Just found the second album (butterfly one) for $1 at CD and Game exchange, and now remember why I wore out my tape all those years ago.

Hope Guy's friend will defend this practice of theirs.  One band I would love to see reunited.

Brennser is right.  Apparently my friend Guy Chadwick has kissed and made up with estranged guitarist Terry Bickers.  This is pretty crazy considering how acrimonious their split was...

You got the Butterfly album for $1?  That has to be the deal of the century.  That album is woefully underrated, and I have no idea why the Mark E Smiths of the world can't get into it (you need to give it another spin, Mark E!)...

Anyway, as much as I love HOL, I really can't defend their poor choice of having two albums being self-titled.  It does make things confusing, and ultimately reminds us that Mr. Chadwick is human afterall...

As an afterthought, I'm hoping to hear some HOL this Sunday night at the Blue Room for their monthly U.K. indie night. I'm not DJing, but I do know the three DJs that are, and fortunately for me they are all big HOL fans.  ;)

I just think there first album is much more heartfelt. I really feels like he has something to say and that he must get it out. The second albums is fine pop, but lacks the edge that the divorce gave the first album.

The second album is normally called fontana, right?

Fair enough.  I do think the opening track on there ("Hannah") is just as edgy and powerful as anything on the first album though.  And by the way, I think a few of the songs on there were penned around the same time period as the ones on the debut (such as "Shine On" and "The Hedonist")...

Usually, I hear the album referred to as "The Butterfly album."
