Not making it down to DC to catch em tonight, but I did see them @ sonar last night. I must say, Revolting Cocks really stole the show. The new singer looks like a cross between crispen glover and jake gyllenhaal. They played all the classics plus a few off the new album - opened up with Beers, Steers and Queers , also played Something Wonderful, Physical, Do ya think i'm sexy, fire engine, dark entries, revco au lait, and i'm probably missing a few. I was hoping to hear Attack Ships on Fire, but they didn't play it (i think they played it in NYC though). Luc van Acker was great on stage as well - giant penis costume and all!
Ministry played mostly stuff from the new album (rio grand blood) and animositisoma + n.w.o, theives, stigmata, so what, and psalm 69. most of the background video was obscured since sonars ceilings are low - that sucked. raven was killer on bass though - kinda got annoyed with tommys gestures, but still cool that he obviously wanted to get the crowd pumped up. Rumor has it Al and Tommy dont get along well (imagine that). I think they need to can the drummer from slipknot though - I mean, he's not a bad drummer, but his style doesn't really fit in with ministry IMHO - the sound of the drums just didn't sound right. I woudl attribute this to sonar, but I've seen complaints of his drumming all over the net.
Pitbull Daycare (the openers) were terrible..miss them if you can. but show up early enough to see Revolting Cocks...show of the year.
