I just reluctantly downloaded the White Williams album, and it turns out it's pretty good.  Not sure why I thought it would suck.

Also (not sure if this is new or not), but eMusic is now carrying Amon Düül 2's first few records.  Massive.

Off the top of my head, I like Two Lone Swordsmen, Mavis Staples, The Henchmen release that pulls together all the recordings they did with a young Jack White.

Recent ones I have liked are Two Gallants, Sharon Jones (who is amazing, playing soon,  and I am doing a poster for), The Black Lips (ditto), Dean and Britta (ditto again), The Books, The Testors, Baroness, Les Savy Fav, and Cobra Skulls.

Second the Cobra Skulls as a fun discovery...nothing like some good old punk rock.

Some other recent discoveries of mine include:
 The Avett Brothers
 Devotchka
 Eels (new stuff)
 Fake Problems
 The Gaslight Anthem
 Josh Small
 Richmond Fontaine
