Soft sale advice
« on: May 08, 2008, 08:21:00 am »
Okay, what you know is going to be a big show is going on soft sale.  Do you wait and buy tickets at the box office?  Has a show ever sold out the first morning/day of soft sale?

I don't need advice that I should buy online if I care about the show (unless it's because a quick sellout can happen).  A friend wants to buy over 10 tickets - so it's a $60-$100 question.

 Thanks for your advice!

Didn't the last Arcade Fire club show sell out while on soft sale? That's all I could come up with. And it took days if not weeks. And this is just speculation but I'm guessing there will most likely be a 4-8 ticket limit for this show.

But isn't that exactly what you're asking?  You're worried about a sellout before you can get to the box office.  If you want to guarantee yourself a ticket - buy it online.  Otherwise, there are no guarantees.

My advice would be for your friend to offer to buy the tickets online.  If the other 10+ people don't want to pay the extra charges, let them fend for themselves.

I know...I know.

I think he's going to buy a couple tickets now online, then go by the club later and get what he can.  If the other dudes believe it's important, they can buy their own tickets online...   ;)   This wouldn't be a question for me.

New Pornos's show last October also sold out on soft sale, but didn't do so immediately.  The club then released some more tickets in a post-sale announced in VOLUME.

But I think that even if it sells out in soft sale, it probably won't sell out today, so you can head over to the box office to get tickets tonight or tomorrow.

How soon do tickets.com orders normally get shipped?  I'm 80% sure that I will be in town for Nick Cave, but there is a chance I will have to sell them.

In my experience, within a day or two of ordering. I don't think I've EVER bought tickets through tickets.com and not had them in hand within a week.
