Sufjan Stevens: is it too soon to ask...
« on: September 12, 2005, 02:40:00 pm »
...if I'll be able to obtain tickets the night of the show?  I'm not expecting a definite answer, mind you, just looking for insight based on similarly popular artists and ticket availability, either from the box office or resellers outside the venue.

You see, I live far away, and will be travelling to D.C. for the sole purpose of seeing him in concert.  I have done this in the past, usually get my tickets way in advance, but this time I flubbed it, got his tour dates mixed up w/another artist on his label.

The only other time this happened to me was coming to see PJ Harvey at the 9:30 Club a few years back.  So I decided to cover my bases then, paid a ridiculous sum for a pair on eBay, only to find that everyone had an extra ticket to sell at the door that night.

And, seeing as this trip will probably cost me $3,179.00 in gas alone, I'm trying to avoid any other unnecessary expenses.

Any thoughts/advice on the subject?  Much appreciated!

There is no way to really answer this question.  It will seem silly to spend that much money on gas just to hang out on the corner of 9th an V northwest for the evening though.  Sometimes there are people looking to get rid of tickets other times not,  there is unfortunately no way to know for sure.
