Baricade or no baricade?
« on: April 28, 2002, 05:40:00 pm »
I've been to the 9:30 club a few times and ive noticed that the bar in front of the stage seems to be sort of inconsistant, sometimes it's there, sometimes its not.I was wondering what decides whether it'll be there or not. i was ALSO wondering whether it would be there for the Ben Folds show on June 12th.thanks.

We use several factors to decide if we need the barricade or not. We take into account if there will be crowd surfers, the type of music being played, what the band wants and the size of the audience. Sometimes bands want a barricade up for a little additional space, a buffer if you will, so they don't have to worry about people grabbing them or touching equipment. Some times bands like that area so they can jump down there and be face to face with the crowd.<P>As for Ben Folds, there probably won't be a barricade, but then again you never know.
