Clothing Donations (from raffle)
« on: July 17, 2004, 11:05:00 pm »
I was wondering which organization received the clothing donations from the past 9:30 raffles.

I have some clothing to donate and I'd rather they go to an organization that distributes them rather than resells them.

Also, the canned goods from the contest went to the Capital Area Food Bank, correct?

Thanks for your interest and concern. Beneficiaries for last winter's raffle were as follows:

 1.) McKenna's Wagon (part of Martha's Table)
 2.) Bread For The City
 3.) Bethany Women's Center
 4.) House of Ruth
 5.) Washington Free Clinic
6.) Emmaus Services for the Aging

Of these, #1 and #2 accept all clothing (they prefer it boxed and/or labelled.) #3 accepts only women's clothing, #5 accepts baby/maternity items, and #6 accepts clothing fit for the elderly.

Our collected food donations actually were distributed among the above organizations, with the exception of #5.

Feel free to email any other raffle-related questions to jeanni@930.com.
