Peaches/EODM
« on: July 24, 2006, 10:31:00 am »
Went to Philly last night to see Peaches/Eagles of Death Metal. Peaches was pretty OK, but I have to admit I was disappointed. She has a band now, and Samantha Maloney is on drums (kick-ass), but the other 2 aren't very good. Peaches seems like she's got more to do, and hence didn't seem very energetic. She did a couple of somersaults, but that was really it.

Eagles of Death Metal on the other hand blew her off the stage. She had a REALLY tough act to follow. The Philly crowd went total apeshit and maybe that had something to do with it, but those guys are so damn tight, pure rock'n'roll. Definitely worth the trip just to see them. If anyone goes to Recher tonight I'd be curious to hear how that show goes.

Was Josh Homme playing drums for the Eagles? I was surprised that he was not playing at the Black Cat show a couple months ago.

Josh rarely plays with EODM live. It's usually on a one-off basis. When I first saw EODM at the Black Cat back in 2004, he wasn't there, either.

He wasn't, but the guy playing with them did some good damage to his kit. His sticks were splintering off. The Philly crowd was awesome...hopefully the Towson folks will bring some good energy.
