Fri. April 1: "We Fought the Big One" Post-Pun
« on: March 30, 2005, 02:04:00 pm »
Hey guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know my friend Brandon and I will be back behind the DJ booth this Friday night over at Marx Cafe for a healthy mix of obscure post-punk, shoegaze and weird underground indie.  For some reason we love that stuff. And for those of you that know about the complimentary mix cd we made for everyone, we'll have plenty of copies---just stop by the DJ booth and ask us. It may be the only chance you'l ever hear songs by The Passions, Shiny Two Shiny, Abecedarians & The Submarines (and a whole host of other great artists that have been grossly overlooked and largely forgotten). And for those of you that are more into new sounds, we do spin quite a few newer bands, but I'll admit we largely avoid playing the flavor of the month stuff if there's no substance behind it...

 Okay, so here's the details:
 "We Fought the Big One"
 at Marx Cafe
 3203 Mt. Pleasant St. NW
 Washington DC
 10pm - 3am
 NO COVER  21+

Actually, I got one of the songs wrong on the setlist---just for the record, the correct Wedding Present track was "Brassneck." Okay, now I feel better.  ;)

Whatever happened to David Segal?

I don't remember the password, so I won't be posing as him tomorrow.
