« on: April 23, 2009, 05:27:21 pm »
I will be attending the Opeth show next month and am looking for a hotel nearby under $100 that allows pets.I tried travelocity but it didnt help. Id like it to be as close to the club as possible. Can anyone help?

I'd recommend a kennel or asking a friend to watch your pet for you.

I would suggest skipping the show and buying a new keyboard with a fully-functional space bar.

Try something in VA / MD suburbs. Not sure it'll be under a $100, but you can try. And make sure the front desk has your number while you are at the show in case your little buddy decides to starting howling b/c he misses you.

I don't think the club allows dogs.

Maybe prozac for the dog?  I hear it helps.

From the FAQ

Q: Can you suggest a hotel?
A: We recommend the following hotels:

Comfort Inn Suites
(202) 682-5300, main
1201 13th Street, NW
Washington, DC 20005

Carlyle Suites Hotel
(202) 518-5000, main
1731 New Hampshire Ave NW
Washington, DC 20009

I have no idea if they allow pets (but I'd be surprised if they do)
PANTS

hotel helix is pet-friendly.  quite swank, about a 10 minute walk from the 930.  if you decide to stay here, hunt around online for deals - the rates offered on their website aren't their lowest.  hell, i'd call them for discount suggestions!

alternately,
1) go to google maps
2) type in the 930's address
3) click the "Search Nearby" link
4) type in "hotel" and click enter
5) start calling the hotels to ask about their dog policy
6) look up rates for hotels

your choice as to whether you do 6 before 5.

If my dog had separation issues like that, I'd kick his ass to the curb and tell him not to return.
