Oh man, I kept thinking this show was off in the distant future, and now the distant future is today. Sigh... I can't make it and am pretty disappointed because I like the album a lot. But there's just no way I can swing it. Hope its good.

if it's any consolation, relaxer, mastodon blew wooly mammoth-sized chunks when i saw them a year and a half ago.  absolute let-down.  one hopes that they've since improved.

i like how the lead singer almost died because he got sucker punched by a friend of the bassist from the "band?" system of a down, then after he came out of the coma (when a nurse removed a tube from his penis) he wrote the new album . . . which is suppose to be a concept piece about a spirit traveling in space who possesses the body of rasputen to fight with satan.  very nice; i can dig it.  too bad he's a raging alcoholic who will probably die horribly.

Props to whoever was DJing.

I never thought I'd hear Flower Travellin' Band on the 930 PA.

And the placement of that Shellac track right after Intronaut was perfect.
It even got a crowd response.

Show was pretty good but by 11, I felt like my head had been getting bashed with a hammer for the previous three and a half hours.
