for the past four years, i have lived without television.  a, because my partner thought it would be a good idea to have a life beyond the tube and b, i really felt like there wasn't much on anymore to make it worth the price per month i was paying.  i survived . . . i kept to myself about it so i didn't look like one of those flake forgoers of hip fatherhood who belted out bullshit to those who did still suffer like zombies, as if i was somhow above them.  but now i cannot take it anymore.  i need to be controlled by it.  but i want to watch it in limited amounts on the internet, where the new world of controls lies.  i know about this site called hulu.com, but are there anymore that are awesome awesome and cool like coolio's hair??

thank you from the annoying bastard who posts cat pictures.

I use these somewhat frequently.  They have pretty decent variety.

Tvshack.net

the big networks stream some of their shows: nbc.com, abc.com, cbs.com, etc...

everyone raves about hulu but I can't get anything more than clips for some of the shows I want to watch. Cable networks have maybe one episode of select shows, if that. Yet, if you stay current in your viewing, it might work for you.
Obviously, I'm weary of spam and viruses but someone told me about www.fastpasstv.com. Couple of pop ups but otherwise okay. My virus scan alerted me when I tried to download one show - they feed through alternate providers and wisvid appears to be best.
Not sure I understand how logging on to watch TV shows will leave you less controlled than by your TV, but whatever works! ;) (for ex/ I watched 4 episodes of Entourage this weekend - in a row - so not much different than sitting in front of the the tele or a dvd.)
Netflix doesn't always have current TV (or movies) for instant play but I do find Netflix's full screen to be the best quality - the others (fastpass, TV networks, not so much.)

Is surfthechannel.com still around?

I can also shoot you a tvtorrents invite if they're allowing signups at the moment and if you'd rather download your fixes.

Yes, please, azag, thanks.
I'm still happy w/ fastpass (via wisvid) if it weren't for them I wouldn't be able to watch anything.
