Pinback last night at the BC
« on: October 29, 2009, 10:50:57 am »
Second time I saw them, they keep getting better and better. There are always songs I never knew were so sweet until I get to catch the band again. Penelope for one ( :-[ ), Fortress is pretty damn great, too. I was a little disappointed they didn't play Tripoli, but at least they played Good to Sea.

I still find it incredible so many of their live songs are completely different from the album versions (i.e. Tripoli), which is a pleasant surprise.

4.75/5. Can't complain. Those guys are always on the money.

Tripoli is way better live. Too bad they didn't do it. I've never seen a Pinback show without ever hearing Tripoli...was it crowded?

I had never seen Pinback, and was very surprised how everything was so much mellower. Still very cool, just, different...

And it was actually a pretty good sized crowd. But a TON of people talked throughout. Is talking at shows the new black? I mean, fine to exchange thoughts, but full on conversations during the entire set? I thought I was at Iota for a second.

Shows at the mainstage have suffered from super chatty hipster douche syndrome for a while now.

I saw them play about 5 pr 6 years ago at the black cat.  It was so crowded, I had to watch them in the mirror behind the bar.

Are you planning on taking a hatchet to them too?
