Kidz Bop Roll Call
« on: July 03, 2008, 10:11:00 am »
Who's in? This is my first time seeing them live. I'm really hoping to hear a lot of stuff from Vol. 4 but I have a feeling the set's going to be heavy on Vol. 13 which is easily their worst effort to date.

i'd saying a lot of balding, by themselves, white men, with nervous looks over their shoulders, sweat beading down their necks, and hands fiddling with something in their pockets.

I saw the original line-up 20 years ago for $5 in the basement of a club that no longer exists.  They have so sold-out.

I was at that show.  They played Murmur in its entirety and closed with an ironic version of Pour Some Sugar on Me.  Of course they were called Kids Bop in those days.  Things changed when the 's' became a 'z'.

I was busy dancing so I didn't jot down a full set list but there were some definite highlights. "Get The Party Started" was a great way to open the show. The people I was with all agreed. "Since You've Been Gone" was an obvious highlight as was a new, unreleased song "Love Song." They said it's going to be on their next release later this summer. If that song is any indication, the next album should be a return to form. "Crazy In Love," "Party Like A Rock Star," and the "Girlfriend/Mickey" mini-medley were other stand outs. The only real negative was the opening band (Patrell I believe they said). Lots of energy but after two songs, their set became very samey.

Indeed.  Beverly Hills was the 1st song after intermission. Nice stage props accompanied. Not a highlight for me though.
