Free Weight Issues
« on: March 17, 2016, 02:42:19 pm »
a while back, i was at the Gold's Gym in Tysons.  it's a multi-level gym with a "cut-out" on the second floor allowing you a view to the level below.  as i was racking a 5 or 10 pound weight, it slipped, rolled to the "cut-out", flipped over the edge and plummeted down to the floor below.  thank goodness that weight didn't hit anyone - easily could have killed someone.

has anyone else had issues with free weights they would like to share?

I'm just wondering what you were doing at a Gold's Gym in Virginia.

I have never used free weights in my life. Too high maintenance for me.

while in consulting, the company's HQ was in tysons.  when not on assignment, i reported back to the mothership.  traffic on 495 between VA and MD is horrible, so after a at teh office i would go to the gym to kill time instead of sitting in traffic.

getting back to the topic at hand: the ledge on that "cut-out" should have been much taller.

not a weight per se, but back in high school, some friends and I were bowling and this girl put a ball on an empty rack. What she didn't know was the rack was empty because the stopper at the end was missing, and the ball rolled off the end of the rack on to the guys head that was sitting there. lol.
