Wow, what a show. Good thing Tim was running a few late, because I would have missed the start. He reminded me of a southern Baptist preacher during revival on a lot of the songs. Good energy, and he tried to get the crowd into it, but the dc crowd resisted and begrudgingly accompanied him along with head, shoulders, knees and toes, and other song alongs. His set up was a laptop hooked to a projecter, that his brother ran, and then he sang, and had pedals for vocal effects. the projecter would have stories, or songs. The screen would have a "back up group" playing along, though that group was Tim, times 3. The songs themselves were good, and most seemed to be off his latest. It was fun, fun, fun, and i would go see him again in a heartbeat. The Watson Twins looked and sounded great. What a talent they are. They played their brand of subdued country for a solid 45 minutes, and then did one encore. No cool screens or sing alongs, just good old music. Both groups also ran their own merch, so I was able to geta tour poster signed by the twins, and buy an original Tim Fite piece of artwork. Rock and Roll Hotel has slowly risen to my favorite DC venue, with how intimate and fun the shows there usually are.
