Ted Leo question
« on: March 15, 2004, 09:58:00 am »
I have a question for you people, and i guess its irrelevant, BUT.
I was at the Ted Leo show on Saturday, and my girlfriend seemed to think he was very gay. I disagreed, but she, being my girlfriend, can tell much better than i (yeah right)
Is that crazy, or might he really be gay.  Sure, i dont think i even care, but we talked about it too long for me not to ask you intelligent group of people.

Also, that show was great! He is a damn good singer/guitarist and all of the songs came off great, even in the Ottobar which tends to get a little fuzzy sometimes.  French Toast is also a good band, they just need a singer.

I agree-- Saturday's show was awesome, but Teddy's always good live.  Just a fun guy.

Personally, French Toast was not my bag.

On the sexuality question-- Does it matter?  Sure, he wears tight jeans, and looks great ion them for that matter, but who cares!  I mean, is your girlfriend looking to date him?

nah, it certainly doesnt matter, it was just one of those things. she said, "he's very gay" just randomly, and i found it strange cause it had never even crossed my mind, and when i thought of it, he doesnt look gay at all! I dont think she's looking to date him.  she'd better not be  :)

i think it was the tight shirt, the haircut and his fondness for singing "ooooh ooh oooh" in the high tones.  hmm, doesnt make someone gay to me.

The only indie rocker you need a dictionary to listen to is extending his current spring tour to the end of May: Ted Leo and his merry band of Pharmacists will be hitting both coasts in the next few weeks. Leo is touring behind his third solo LP, Hearts of Oak, which was released last month on Lookout!, and frankly, kicks some serious ass. But, on a technicality here, it falls just short of kicking quite as much ass as the Leo live experience, which is so intense that Pitchfork's own Editor-in-Chief left saying, "I'm pretty much gay for him."

I dunno about him making people gay...

Though I do remember lusting after him when I first saw him play a tambourine against his head a year ago at Black Cat.  Anyone who can incorporate his or her head into making good music gets an extra gold star in my book.
