I fully understand.

Look at the positive side. If it doesn't sell out; which I assume they both will, especially the Friday show; we'll have a little more breathing room.   :D

I agree.

However there has been no radio promotion or City Paper advertisement for the MA show like there was for Evanescence.  That might explain it.

I hope this show sells out.  It might make it more likely Massive Attack will come back next time.

If Nickelback or 3 Doors Down played the 9:30 Club it would sell out quickly.  You can't compare Massive Attack and Evanescence.

Yeah I know. I still think it's sad that bands like the ones you mentioned  draw crowds though. I bet a lot of the kids who pay to see them would eat a piece of shit if it was properly marketed to them.

hahahaha.  Hey, move to Iran.  Maybe the Imams would put you in as Minister of Universal Good Taste in Music and let you execute all those who like bands you don't.

The kids like what gets them laid. Fortunately there  are people who go to shows to see good performances, not to take advantage of inebriated girls. If you like getting laid, go see Jimmy Buffett, I hear he's sure thing.

cant wait. i wonder how fast its going to sell out.
looks like we all jumped there gun on this one - two weeks later, and tickets are still available for both nights.  wow.  such a quality act... and to think that evanescance is sold out (pun intended).

is it the price of this show that's keeping people away? <insert hipster-scenester reply here about how MA doesn't conform with their indie sensibilities>

personal rant: had i known the show wasn't going to sell out immediately, i would have bought my tix at the club box-office... and saved myself SEVENTEEN DOLLARS in fees.  that's a 21% mark-up over face.  tickets.com might be better than the alternative, but not by much.  i'm starting to suspect the difference is mostly political.

Ditto, but there's never a way to know if a show with a lot of buzz here will sell out fast or not.  Oy...what are ya gonna do.

If I recall, their single show back in 1998 didn't sell out too far in advance (if at all).  They haven't been around since, their fanbase is older and many have perhaps "moved on" or simply don't know what to expect seeing them today, and their genre has been rather lifeless since the late '90's (at least in the US, as far as I know).  I think all those are factors in why there was no immediate sell-out.  I'd still imagine at least one show sells out, the other sells well, and both shows are great.

Can anyone confirm or deny the rumor that they're filming the two shows at the 9:30 club for the Live DVD they're doing?

My roomate said she just gave someone who claimed to be their manager a permit of some kind for filming it in DC.
Woof.
