No, but I did paint my goatee red, white and blue though.

Don't forget his "Burn this flag asshole" t-shirt....which he proudly wears under his faded Wrangler jacket with a "These colors don't run" patch that takes up the whole back.

I spent last night trying to remember and I still don't.

I remember lurking for a long time to pick up some new bands, then something pissed me off and I tried to sign up but my screen name was already taken.  Who the hell would have that screen name?  So I tried my screen name and password and it worked, but I had no recollection of ever signing up in Oct of 2001.  I'm guessing I had a comment about a show (it might have been Social D or Richard Ashcroft), was probably given the ritual newbie treatment, thought you were all a bunch of assholes (though I remember calling the lot "elitist pricks" at one point) and moved on.  If I only knew it was just a right of passage....

Anyhow, a few months later I had 2 extra passes to "24 Hour Party People," hooked up with Markie and Lulu for the movie, met Thirsty afterwards for a drink with the two of them, now 2-3 years later I've moved far away and still am a regular poster.

There's a dude on www.sharingthegroove.org with the screen name "vansmack".  He posts all the NOFX concerts that he tapes.

That bastard - I'm going to have to take the Clear Channel approach with him and wipe him off the planet!

I did sell my first email address vansmack@aol.com to a popular radio show host for an undisclosed sum back in 1994-95.  I simply signed up for MSN instead and haven't changed that address since.

Flawd, you're one of the most entertaining people on here in my book. Keep up the good work.

I was in college when I signed on to the 930 board.  So that must have been around 98 or so.  I'd head down to the 930 every so often so I figured I may as well get to know some people there.

A lot of the board chatter was similar.  Lot's of britpop fans.  People kept on talking about this new night called Mousetrap over at Metro Cafe.  There was also some continuous thread called Return of the Lesbian Avengers.

Originally I used my name but then lost track of the password so I switched over to the moniker I use now.  As Mankie says, it is habitual but I have been posting a lot less than before.

 Watch what you say...

So Markie The Mad Scientist and Lulu were right. You really are GGW!

Flawd, I'm glad that you've adopted us. Don't worry, we'll help you out with your music handicap. We understand. It's just a phase that we all went through. You'll be okay in a couple years time.      ;)

Not exactly sure how I got here other than that I was looking for people with like-minded ways and musical tastes. Due to my horrid experience in Hell (Inner Shitty teaching) my music and social life had completely died. It was time to get the Hell out and repair all the damage that had been done, including getting a life again. That wasn't happening in Baltimore but there seemed an abundance of it in DC. Well, the rest is history.
