I've had the Pernice Bros. recommended to me numerous times given that I loved the one and only release by The Whiles.  Wanted badly to see them, but couldn't drag myself to the show after working late last night.

Any suggestions on an album to start with them?

1. World Won't End
 2. Yours Mine and Ours
 3. Scud Mountain Boys Early Years and Massachusetts
 4. Overcome By Happiness
 5. Live a Little
 6. Big Tobacco (solo record)
 7. Discover a Lovelier You
 8. the live album

Big fan here, have seen them many times, but not last time. The above order is best to worst in my opinion, though it's all good stuff.

I agree it was a great show. Good mix of the new songs as well as the old. One of my favorites was the one Joe did solo at the beginning of the encore. Live a Little definitely one of my favorites of the year.

Good show, and nice crowd for a Wednesday...they'd played Iota and Jammin Java before and I wasn't sure they could draw @ the Black Cat but there were plenty of people there.

The World Won't End is definitely the one to get.

That was one of the best sounding shows I've seen at BC.

I wanted to go, but did not. Did anyone catch Elvis Perkins? Saw him open for Okkervil River earlier this fall, really liked his stuff.

stage left soundman at bc is for the monitors on stage not the house pa.  usually a bc soundman mixes the stage.

He is the son of actor Anthony Perkins.

Peyton Pinkerton is the longtime guitarist. The keyboardist, who plays additional guitar, is Brit James Walbourne. He also plays with Peter Brutnell, and maybe others. The drummer, Patrick Berkery, is also in the Bigger Lovers.
