Voodoo Music Experience

just got an email confirming some info on it.
 
   October 29-30
   New Orleans City Park
 
   Nine Inch Nails
   Billy Idol
   Social Distortion
   My Chemical Romance
   Queens of the Stone Age
   Ryan Adams
   New York Dolls
   Flaming Lips
   Joss Stone
   Secret Machines
   Bravery, The
   Handsome Boy Modeling School
   LCD Soundsystem
   VHS or Beta
   Prince Paul
   Dan the Automator
   Digable Planets
   Decemberists
   Cake
   Death from Above 1979
   Mickey Harts Voodoo Drum Circle
   and Mindless Self Indulgence are the initial acts to be announced.
 
   and theres is onsite camping there for the first time! strange, camping in downtown New Orleans!!
 
   Tickets on sale July 8th but there is a pre-sale this weekend where a weekend pass is $50.
 
   Camping is $35 per camper, RVs are $50 per vehicle (does anyone have an RV I can borrow???)

I was being a bit sarcastic, but I'm sure there will be tons of groovy vibes during the Mickey Hart Drum Circle.  GGW will be noodle dancing in the crowd.

i hate drums circles. I love drums, but hate drum circles.
 
   especially ones where the people playing in them are not professional drummers!

I went last year; I'm going this year.  It's a really well-run festival...and the whole music scene is enhanced by the seedy/spooky/out of control stuff N.O. is known for so get ready for some "scenes" that would be illegal in most other cities...(and they only charge a buck for a bottle of water - and you get to keep the cap!!)
