I agree with Tooms. I was actually quit surprised with how informed Bono came across as well as how sincere he seemed to be. I don't think that was acting, especially when he admitted that Bush and Blair may be using him as a puppet.

And Jag, i watched MTP and i thought Bono had good things to say.  and i worked in politics for 10 years, so i'm as cynical as they come about tv appearances.  he did a lot better than Donald Rumsfeld who was on before him--Rummy was fumbling all over himself trying not to answer Tim Russert's questions.
I didn't see it but I would fully expect that Bono would have came off much better than old Dumbsfeld considering all the super deep stinking shit he and his elite buddies have us all mired in at the moment with the outlook looking even worse for us.

Either way, considering both guests, in my eyes, the show was one I'd regard as a total shitfest.

Why is it that most of these blow bag rock stars seem to never care about the many disenfranchiesed in their own countries? Doesn't charity start at home? No disrespect whatsoever intended towards the hardships of others elsewhere. It's just that the homies always seem to get left out in the cold, so to speak. And as we all know, just because a country is rich, or even well off, doesn't mean that all of it's citizens share in that wealth.

3 sold out nights in Dublin to more that 240,000 Irish last weekend.  The Irish seem to be OK with it.

HIV/AIDS - adult prevalence rate in Ireland:
0.1% (2001 est.).  Less then 100 people die in Ireland a year from AIDS.

Less then 10% of Ireland lives below the Poverty Line.

 4.3% Unemployment rate.

What do you want him to fix again?

the celtic tiger is still going strong, no?  and while i don't follow it closely, i know he's done a lot with the peace process in the north ... i think he's pretty involved with irish issues ...

Doesn't Bono have more important things to worry about than some stupid hat?
