BRENDAN BENSON COMES TO NEW YORK!
Brendan Benson is coming to New York. He will:
1.) Mix his new record.
2.) Practice with his new band.
3.) Play a couple of unforgettable shows.
Hereâ??s the rundown. Mr. Benson finished two and a half years of touring last June. (Thanks BB). He started writing. He finished most of the record by the beginning of this year. He recorded most of it at his home studio in Detroit with the help of his Wellfed friends Matt Aljian and Christopher Plum. Soon (very soon!) weâ??ll have MP3s previewing the record on the site. The new record has all the things that make you love him so much; great songs, great lyrics, incredible musicianship and new things that will make you love him more!
On April 2nd he comes to New York with a bag full of tapes to be mixed down at Stratosphere studios with Chris Shaw.
A week later Matt Aljian (Wellfed Boy), Dean Fertita (Waxwings), Mike Dosantos (Realistics), Will Evelern (Realistics) hole up in a secret location and start practicing like mad. Yes, a band comprised of the Wellfeds, Waxwings, and Realisitics.
Come check out the action one week later at the Mercury Lounge. On April 13th and 14th (at 8:30pm and 10:00pm respectively) Brendan will preview new songs, play old favorites and deliver the goods as it were. Tickets are only 10 bucks and will be available day of show only. These gigs are not to be missed. Another more low key show will take place on Monday.
When details of his forthcoming record become finalized they will be revealed.
