I'd like to get it at some point but, like "Left of the Dial," I think it could have been much better. Both sets really stick to songs that, for the most part, are still in print. We really need a box set of the independent gems that built college radio. I've thought about this for a while and I think that a few of us boardies can flesh this out. It would be great to release it ourselves, maybe with Seth's backing (read "finances"   :D  ).

And Sonick...You probably know more of these songs than you think.  There were quite a few songs here that I remembered, but I had no idea who sang them, or what their titles were.

have you heard of the Numero Group? They'd be perfect for that kind of thing as they specialize in making comps of hard to find material - they've done lots of soul so far but have also put together an amazing power pop comp called yellow pills

it's very very good, and it has much more obscure stuff than Left of the Dial

Children of Nuggets is great, but it's not as good as the two previous Nuggets sets (that's a pretty high bar).  It's definitely worth having.  I've been re-listening to Left of the Dial over that past few days, and I think it's a pretty good overview.  As much as I'd like the out-of-print gems, I don't think that's really what Rhino set out to do. For most of the bands on it, they do a good job of picking the representative track, though there are some odd choices (e.g., "The Forest" for the Cure).
