i went in 2006 and had a good time. the weather was good and so was the crowd. i mostly stayed at the main stage so didnt really explore all the stuff to do around the fest (didnt seem like there was much though). i'd like to go back this year and see more of the city. think it's just like any other festival except its in new orleans so there's plenty to do in the city when not at the festival.

Sounds great where did you happen to stay?  I might do the hostel thing again since some of those hotels are pricey.

That is so horrible and amazing at the same time.

It's the "To Wong Foo" sequel that never happened.
Woof.

I think I'm going to stay at the India Hostel.  20 bucks a night you can't beat that.  Now I just need to know how close it is to the park and if the reviews.

I went back in 04? i think.  it was not a very good festival.  I dont care much for southerners though and although we had a good time in New Orleans while not at the festival, this is definitely not as good of a time as Coachella, Vfest, Lolla or even Bonnaroo.

Wow that sounds like a shit festival haha.  I don't think it can be that bad I think I'm still in.  Things must have improved since 04.

October weather is pretty nice.  Short pant weather.  The only real months to avoid in Louisiana is May - September.  It gets way too hot for someone who doesnt live there.  I only go back there to visit my folks during the fall/winter now.
Have fun.  I have wanted to go to this for a while, but probably never will.
