It's a good thing eddie isn't the one who approves my vacation, otherwise I'd never get to leave town...
I've always seen my role as moderator of this forum as one of being hall monitor. Sushing people, giving warnings, etc. I have lately been doing a lot of heading shaking about things posted here and stay out of it hoping it will straigthen it's self out. There also has IMHO been way to much provoking going on in these parts.
Don't want this place to become PC, but also want it be more inviting as well...
These are a couple parts of the unofficial forum FAQ I'm working on. The bit on meaness may not make the final cut. They sum up how what I feel about this forum.
Q. Why are people so mean here?
A. Inbreeding

A. It's because we're a bunch of on the scene elitist hipster pricks. Trust that the regulars have been called all sorts here and elsewhere.
In reality regular poster here enjoy making snide and sarcastic comments and newbies often give them great material to work with. It's what keeps the board lively, so don't take it personally. Stick
around get to know some of the characters and misfits that post here. Get in on the inside jokes and in no time you'll be joining in on the
fun.
We do however save our sharpest pitchforks for any newbie that comes on the forum to complain about be tossed out for underage drinking, asking about smoking pot in the club, etc. Take cover thenâ?¦.
Q. Why should I stick around?
A. For a variety of reasons, the forum can provide entertainment, information, hot tips, musical recommendations, socializing, etc.
Think of the 9:30 forum as a collective blog. There are people who keep track of and post about upcoming shows at Sonar in Baltimore, The
Warehouse, The Black Cat, DC9, etc. A variety of DJ events are mentioned. Show Previews, Reviews and Setlists get posted. Several regulars like to bring attention to stories published on other websites.
