I hadn't been aware of a version with Brigitte Bardot; the 7" I have is of Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin.
Turns out (according to Wikipedia) that "Jane Birkin replaced actress Brigitte Bardot after protests of Bardot's manager, fearing for her image" and that the version with Bardot was ultimately released in the 1980s. Interesting.
