Is anyone going to see them tonight @ the Black Cat w/Dead Meadow?

I thought about it, but don't think I am.  I like the new Icarus Line album but am not desperate to see them, and while I enjoy Dead Meadow, I definitely don't need to go out of my way to see them yet again, seen them enough.

I'm checking the show out next Tuesday.
I really dig the new IL record. It's taken some work to get into, but it's got a good hold of me now...in heavy rotation.

I'll be very interested in hearing about the show this eve if anyone does go - last time I saw Icarus Line - it was a train wreck.

I'm just now getting into Dead Meadow. Actually listening to   <img src="http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/drf400/f481/f48147fzop0.jpg" alt=" - " /> right now.

 Like a modernized indie Sabbath.

 Could be a great 2-for.

even if you don't normally wear ear plugs, might not be a bad idea for Dead Meadow, the live album is a good one to listen to

I tabbed this show as an earplug mandatory event as soon as I saw it listed!   :D

Funny thing about this live record is that the vocals are not as good as the studio record (more nasally), but the guitar and rythmn is just incredible - better than on record...in a lo-fi kind of way. I'd actually enjoy an instrumental only version. Luckily - it is mostly sans singing.

i am definitely going to this show tonight. dead meadow are one of my favorite bands and i've seen them about 12 times. i am actually not familiar with the icarus line, though i know one of those dudes writes for buddyhead. i've heard comparisons from cave in to the jesus lizard.

the opening band, 400 blows, is terrific. they're from los angeles and play fast, mathy noise rock, kind of similar to bands like don caballero, dazzling killmen, unsane, rodan, etc. i'll be there as early as possible to see them.

i love jason's vocals, by the way, because they're unique and tripped-out and fit the music well. it would suck if he had that typical aggro/macho vocal style.
