Oddly enough, that's the reason I'm going.  They finally solid live band when they opened for Sonic Youth at Recher's, but that was with both a bass player and a drummer, and they were still playing stuff off the first full-length.  I have no clue how they're going to pull off the newer album's complexities with only 3 people.  Hell, it will either be highly impressive or a complete train wreck.

It'll probably sound how they used to sound on the backstage.

Liars interview (I've been enjoying the free williamsburg thing as of late; some excellent interviews in there):

i saw them up in baltimore....wayyyy different...they played for less than an hour and had some crappy bands open up....oh wait, one of those crappy bands is opening up for htem again...young people.....man that was some of hte worst music i have ever heard in my life....seriously.

liars....i really like some of the new songs...lots of crazy effects on the drums and whatnot....but also...dislike quite a few of them. it's pretty experimental.

I have not seen them, but I know somebody who said Young People were pretty good opening for The Gossip and have seen good reviews on another board, so maybe it was a bad night, maybe not.

So I caught the very last of it, including the drummer walking off in his speedos?  Seemed to be a short show, it was over before 1:00.
