I wouldn't.  But that's just me.  And since I go 6'1, about 140, I can say that a 140-150 pound chick is heavy.  Heavier than me anyway.

Are you really that thin? You'll be happy to know that my wife and I were debating your weight (based on your previous comment on this thread) I guessed that you were maybe 6'2" 165, whereas my wife insisted that you weren't that tall or that thin, that there "was nothing at all remarkable about him."...hhahaha

And if you read my original post, you will see that I said if she took better care of her body (unlike Nicole Richie, who ALSO doesn't take care of her body), she could potentially be hot.

Anyway, regarding the show... that's kind of a disappointment to hear.  One review I read a couple of weeks ago sounded promising, I guess that was premature...
[/b]
1) Regardless of the fact that this has nothing to do with me...appearance, among other factors, has never played a role in who I have and have not dated.  It is, to me, just an added plus if someone is good looking.  I don't care.  So if I cared for girls that way and she was a good person, then yes I would date them.
There are obviously certain things that I find more attractive than others.  But there are plenty of physically attractive people that I would never touch.

 2) I did watch parts of the show.  The whole idea is that she is unattractive in comparison to most of the fashion industry's STANDARDS.  And one of the points they are trying to get accross is that they are some pretty fucked up standards.  If she was trying to be a fashion model then yes, she might have to lose weight to get a job.  As an actress though, I do not think needs to lose weight.
You said she should be doing crunches and counting caloric intake.
I don't really look at her and think she takes bad care of herself.  I look at her and think she's heavier than other actresses.  She doesn't really strike me as overweight though.  This is also a completely mote point, as none of us have any concrete knowledge as to how much she weighs...

Well if we're all sharing heights and weights, I'm 5'9" and a quarter, 175. But all of my weight is in my thick muscular runner's legs, I swear.

That's great. I feel honored that you guys care so much.

The one time we met (in Polly's if I remember correctly) I remember your wife being much more attractive than I would have guessed based on your posts on the board.  You, on the other hand, were just about everything I expected, most likely because I had seen pictures of you on the board.  You are clearly fighting (and winning) in a league above your weight by having that wife.

I think that's a compliment for my wife, so thanks on her behalf. That said, she's definitely in the 140-150 range.

I'm glad her taste in men led her to picking me to date over the dozens of other men who responded to her personal ad.      ;)

And yes, I do consider myself lucky to have married her, though for many other reasons than that which meets the casual eye.

Rhett: still obssessed with physical appearance.

Ha ha ha ha.  I looked down the list of thread titles and saw this one and absolutely knew that Rhett had started it.

How many mirrors do you have in your home?

I don't come to the board much anymore but every single time I do I can guarantee that Rhett will be talking about how someone looks.  Man, if that's such an important issue in your life (since you talk about it so often) consider yourself lucky.  You must have NO problems to be so obssessed with the looks of others.  Bravo to you.

You have a brain, clearly, because even on this message board I can see that you are not stupid.  But, also as clearly, you do not have enough confidence in your brain.  You need to always back that up (in your own mind) with demeaning others' appearance.  Stick with your brain.  When you and your wife's looks fade (soon), it will be a nice thing you can rely on.

 Rhett = Schadenfreude.

I made it through half of the second episode last night, then I gave up.

My wife likes the show. She claims it's a chick thing. Her favorite show seems to be Project Runway, so this show is right up her alley I guess. I'll have to watch baseball on of of our other tv's.

not that this has anything to do with drinks, but flights from NYC to SF are sure a lot more expensive than DC to SF. Im a bit disappointed  :(  i too will be there for thanksgiving. any good bands going to be around? might need to get my hook up into popscene if anyone is worth seeing.

and whoever mentioned about the looks/style (of ugly betty) in comparison to NYC standards hit the nail on the head. its much like the devil wears prada. i mean its not like andie (anne hathaway) had any problems in the looks dept. its just the whole NYC attitude and working at that kind of place. She's just a serious outcast who doesn't look the part at a women's fashion magazine. and i think she's fine with her weight. and a talented actress. see her first film 'real women have curves'. besides at the end of the day, your weight is just a #.
