Bob Mould
« on: June 23, 2003, 12:26:00 pm »
So I just heard that Bob Mould is going to be doing an acoustic set at Fort Reno this evening.  From what I understand he will be hitting around 7:00.  In case anyone is looking for something to do...

With the club not having a show today, will you be there Eddie?  Thinking of going, looks like it will not rain.

Don't know how the sound will be...

Well the sound will be, um, not quite as clear as the 930 club.  Fort Reno is kinda a block party style shindig so the sound won't be great, although if he's doing an accoustic set, that'll probably sound a lot better than a full band.

you really think Bob will go on first, Eddie?

I thought he would go on last? It is going to be impossible for me to get there for 7.15.... 7.30 looks possible though.

Bob's manager told me it will be more like 8:30 or so by the time he goes on.  Fort Reno shows need to be done by 9:30, so I think he'll play for about an hour or so.

You tell her to shut up, stay home and bake you a pie...then she can knit you a sweater.

Excellent show last night, especially considering Bob hasn't really picked up a guitar or sang in about 6 months.  And the weather was beautiful too!  We really lucked out.

Thanks to Eddie for the reminder and to Bunnyman for letting us know when Mould would go on....

As someone else said last night, "I have never heard anyone play acoustic guitar quite so ferociously....."

It was a most entertaining show and the whole outside in the sunshine experience was just great.

I agree...concerts in the outdoors (esp. at night) can be really amazing if mother nature can help out.  I saw Sonic Youth last summer outdoors and it was one of the most incredible performances I've ever seen...the atmosphere was just terrific.  It gave the music a whole different dynamic.
