Your music-inspired yearbook quote
« on: September 14, 2004, 04:21:00 pm »
You just know that the majority of folks here were the ones who used song lyrics as quotes in their high school, or god forbid college, yearbooks.

The 'tasteful' yearbook photo reminded me I'd been thinking about this lately.  My yearbook is home, I'll find it and post my quotes.  I know I used U2, I may have used the Smiths as well.  Not at *all* obvious, right....   ;)

I used something from das Scorpions ~ The Zoo.

The job is done and I go out
 Another boring day
I leave it all behind me now
 So many worlds away

I meet my girl, she's dressed to kill
 And all we gonna do
Is walk around to catch the thrill
On streets we call the zoo

We eat the night, we drink the time
 Make our dreams come true
And hungry eyes are passing by
On streets we call the zoo

 Sweet eh?!

HA....I promised...holy mother, I was so pretentious, so "cool"...

From my Senior yearbook page (high school):

 A picture in grey,
 just me by the sea,
and I felt like a star,
If they listened to what I said.
 The ocean, the ocean
 washes my feet,
Splashes the soul of my shoes
 when I looked around,
 The World coudn't be found,
 just me by the sea.
  -- Bono Hewson

My page mate quoted Steve Miller, our friend on the page facing us quoted, "I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints...Only the good die young."  -- Billy Joel

 Oh yeah, we were cool.

Die Scorpions! â??Dasâ?? ist einzigartig. ("Das" is singular.)

(And "die" is pronounced "dee"; I wish you no ill harm   :D  )

Yup, seniors were two to a page, and you could lay it out anyway you wanted.  I have a baby picture, pics from parties with other friends, and we coordinated our page with the page across from us, two of our other best friends.

The other classes had the normal 20 or 30 to a page...just that awful head shot.
