Is sold out?  Wasn't this on soft sale?  Do I have a  poor memory, or is this level of popularity something new?

holy eff, you're right.  this has to be a system screw-up, there is no way JM sold-out on soft-sale.  
 
 maybe the band's management is hoarding tickets to give away, for the fan club, for a promotional event like an album launch, etc?

I don't know... I just looked around on Ticketmaster.  It seems this was only the latest in a run of sell outs.

huh.  i'm stumped.  although i've just checked, and this show has been on soft-sale for a month now.
 
 do they have a big hit on commercial radio these days?  am i that disconnected?

I'm pretty disconnected, as I wouldn't even know what station to listen to if they did have a hit.  I'm almost exclusively XM.  They were on Conan, or one of the late night shows, recently.  That's about all I've got.  Maybe they've broken out, and the 9:30 message board is last to know...

Jack's Mannequin (and SoCo) are enormously popular in the AbsolutePunk/Warped Tour scene. Like one of the biggest bands of that scene. I think their new album was #2 on the itunes charts for the week, so despite having no radio play hits, I'm not surprised this sold out.
 
 In the spirit of full-disclosure: an ex of mine was a HUGE JM/SoCo fan and I got dragged to like 6 shows. I have to admit it's catchy; I'm pretty sure I know every track on all three Andrew McMahon albums by heart.
