Hey gang,

Shameless plug I know but I had to say something about us hitting the 3-year-mark! I think I can safely say that my dj partner Brandon and I didn??t expect ??We Fought the Big One? to last as long as it has but we are extremely grateful that we are still here, championing the best in moody and off-kilter post-punk/underground indie.

As a way of saying thank you for your support over the years, Marx Café will be offering Chimay on tap for $5 and De Koninck on tap for $4 all night long. (Harris, the owner of Marx, knows Brandon and I love our Belgian beer!)

Also, in what has become an annual tradition, Brandon and I will be offering a limited number of our new mix cd, which contains many of our all-time favorite tracks, including some that we transferred from vinyl! If you like it half as much as we do (we happen to think it??s our best mix yet!), you will have a big smile on your face. And speaking of our new mix, major props to Jake Reid of Alcian Blue (who spent hours equalizing it, removing pops & cracks, etc.) & Greg Svitil of The Antiques (who graciously allowed us to use his record-to-cd transfer system). Also a huge thank you to Zen Master Chris Diamond, who once again has created a gorgeous cd cover!

So join us Friday evening as we celebrate three years of post-punk weirdness, off-kilter pop nuggets, shoegaze greatness, underground noise and drunken tomfoolery in DC!

 Hope to see everyone Friday!
