ipod advice

so, mine's been a tiny bit flaky...often going to a screen where just the apple shows no matter what and is unresponsive to touching the buttons...

usually, I let the battery run down and conntect it back up to the Mac to recharge and it comes back to life...

now, it is not recognized by the Mac (the icon doesn't appear on the desktop) and the apple icon just stays on the ipod screen...no indication of anything happening...

 has anyone else experienced this?

 I haven't tried re-installing the software cause it's not with me...maybe later...

 ?????

Umm, if you hold two buttons in for like five seconds it reboots if it has battery charge....

I think it is the top and bottom buttons.....

yep that worked for my gen-1 ipod.

I had to do that quite often when I ran with it. Is that when yours is being fllakey?

Try rebooting the iPod.  Press the Play/Pause button and the Menu button at the same time and hold down for about 10 seconds.

forgot to say on re-boot you just get the big apple symbol for around 30 seconds, then it goes to the menu, so you have to be patient...

 Dont do multiple reboots.....

I just purchased my first 2 itunes songs the other day (never really got into that before, only ripped cds i already owned) but haven't gotten to listen to them on the full blast of the ipod since it's been acting weird...

I think when I use it in the car is what drives is to do this...and it did go blank once when I was running...

 tempermental little thing...

 thanks again!

Mine gets grumpy if it is on hold and then I attach it to the car.... The small voltage cause the ipod to want to come on.
