I'll never tire of watching the Penguins torture the Capitals:

 Pens shut out Caps

The Pittsburgh Penguins are quickly becoming a great young hockey team.

Crosby/Malkin/Fleury = reminiscent of the glory days with Lemieux & Jagr.

"I dont see Fleury winning any cups!"

You haven't been watching much [*edit for accuracy*]Fleury lately then. He's something like 9-0-1 since Christmas.

With 2 shutouts in the last 3 games. And 7 stops in OT versus Montreal the other night.

If not for Crosby - he'd def be the MVP. He's a different player this year & a difference maker.

From the Wash Post:

The afternoon concluded with the sellout crowd chanting "Fleury!, Fleury!" as his teammates congratulated the 22-year-old former No. 1 overall draft pick for his 30-save performance and fourth shutout of the season.

 and

Fleury "didn't give up any goals and that was the difference," Kolzig said. "He was terrific. But if we keep playing that way, we're going to win more times than not."

Capitals Coach Glen Hanlon also praised Fleury, saying: "He played extremely well. I thought we had our chances, we just couldn't score. We must have had three or four real good flurries. We had three, maybe four, times where we had a third [rebound] opportunity to score and we just couldn't buy a goal."

Fleury was at his best when it mattered most -- in the third period while the Penguins protected a 1-0 lead. His most critical save came against Eric Fehr, whom he turned away on a rush from point-blank range. A split second later, he kicked out a pad to stop Fehr's rebound attempt.

 AND

Although Crosby and rookie Evgeni Malkin may earn the majority of the accolades, it could be argued that Fleury has been the Penguins' MVP this season. The Penguins are 8-0-1 in their last nine games, and Fleury has been in net for seven of those victories    :p

he's on a month long hot streak and now he's Patrick Roy??  dont think so.

but thats fine, see how many cups you win with him.

in 5 years when you trade him cause Sidney actually wants to win, we'll talk then.

Ha! That's pretty funny... I attributed his success to a crazy doppelganger

Penguins dominate the NHL's best team:

 Red Hot Fleury Claims Another

 From the article:

The Pittsburgh Penguins were eager to take on the Nashville Predators and see how they matched up against the NHL's top team. If they keep playing like this, opponents might have to start comparing themselves to the new-and-very-improved Penguins.

''We knew he's one of the best goalies in the league and tonight he showed it,'' Arnott said. ''He made some unbelievable saves.''

i dont think Nashville is the NHL's best team.  record or no.

Detroit, Anaheim and Buffalo could beat them up on a pretty regular basis, and until Pittsburgh can learn to beat New Jersey, they have a year or two before they can start thinking Stanley Cup.
