A good read, maybe a bit too much detail if you are not a fan of a lot of the bands, but most of the bands feature pretty entertaining characters.

Our Band... was an enjoyable read.  Then again, I liked the bands that were covered. I'm not sure it would be the book for you.  The other sounds more your type (contrary).

i read the one about Exile on Main Street in Harp magazine. Decent read.
