black crowes on rails of sudden stops
« on: October 03, 2005, 01:57:00 pm »
since the crowes have no opener, and they are suppose to go on stage at eight thirty (hopefully the same time on tuesday, as well) . . . is metro an option worth considering, since i won't have to worry about running for the last train before i turn into a fairy god mother at midnight?  (basically, chris isn't scheduled to play for more than three hours is he?)

if i shouldn't have a problem . . . i've never taken metro to the club, so where do i go when i get there?  i think i take the u street cardoza stop, like i'm going to black cat, but i'm not one hundred percent.  and about what time should i look at the watch and run for the door if the show does go late?  tanks!

From the Unofficial Forum FAQ, that one day I'll get around to posting...

 Q. Can I take the Metro to the 9:30 Club?
 A. Take the Metro to the U Street/Cardoza Green Line Station.  Be sure to use the 10th Street exit otherwise you'll have to walk a couple extra blocks to get to the club.

Just this past week in Philly, they played three full hours on the 29th and 2h45m on the 30th. I figure I'm gonna drive to be safe from being stranded.

I went to the Upper Darby/Philadelphia show on Friday 9/30. It started at 8:15 and ended around 11:15. I waited about 15 more minutes to get my Instant Live CD. I then went to the very nearby train station and was back in the comforts of my hotel room all the way downtown before midnight. Way to go SEPTA!!

As for WMATA.....I have no doubt the Green Line will still be running when the show lets out tonight. So the issue really is, do I [or you] want to wait 10-15 mins for the next train to come? The Green Line is like that in the evenings!

But if you're transferring to another line from the green line, you have to be sure you time your trip home so you get on the line that takes you home.  That might mean getting to the metro at U Street 20 minutes, a half hour earlier.

When you get out at U Street at 10th, you're a couple blocks from the club.  Go right.
