Mastodon/Priestess roll call
« on: February 16, 2007, 11:40:00 am »
Who's going tomorrow night? If you are, I strongly recommend you get there early enough to see Priestess. They're a great fun rock band, who released one of my best albums of last year.

Also, I think I called Blood Mountain my most disappointing albums of 2006. Well, in prep for the show, I've been listening to it a lot and I've come 180 on it. Man, I love it, and I can't wait to see them rock it up on stage. Three great bands for 15 bucks on a Saturday night. That's my kind of deal. Am surprised this hasn't sold out.

i'm there.

and i'm not surprised it hasn't sold out. while mastodon is pretty hip within metal circles, and has even crossed over a little, i don't think they've reached popular enough status to sell out the 930 on their own. i could be wrong. converge still plays the ottobar and opens for bigger bands at places like the 930.

I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't sell out.  I've got plans to go out of town, but they're on the brink of falling through.  If they do, I'll be there.

I'll be there early getting posters signed and then up on the balconey so I don't get my head kicked in during Converge. Should be a good show.

I will be there.  A start time of 9:40 for a headliner on a Saturday night is early.  However, that is good for us old folk.

The highlight for me was when Neil from Clutch joined Mastodon to sing
  Blood & Thunder

thanks for the post.  Who would have thought a song about Moby Dick would rock (apologies to Zeppelin of course)?
