But you could buy one of these new devices and record radio for when you are out of range....

Oh and GGW, I thought your washing machine did that already:

Once Toshiba and Hitachi get   Bluetooth to your washing machine and dryer, anything is possible.

True, but we are a selfish people.  We like to have exactly what we want, whenever we want.  That is why radio and it's randomness, TV Networks and their set schedules are looking for new delivery vehicles.  And devices that let us choose to hear and see what we want, when we want (MP3 Players, DVRs) are flourishing.  It's a natural merger.

I haven't read yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if that Samsung Device supports WMP 10 (i.e., Napster, Rhapsody, Yahoo Music, etc.).

Both devices (really just one device with either samsung or pioneer skin) support Napster .  The device has a buffer, but if you hear something you like and want to download a "clean" and full quality copy, you can hit a button, and next time you dock it, it will grab it for you from napster.

this is a natural connection -- XM and downloading.   You get exposed to something new, you tag it and download it.  Otherwise, downloading, you either know what you're looking for or its very hit and miss.

i have a delphi myfi XM unit, and the only  reception issues i've had with it were in: 1)kansas 2)the canadian rockies, and 3)rock creek park.  this makes no sense.  otherwise, no worries and an excellent product, especially for the o&a/ron&fez channel and the comedy channels.
