GBV/ New Porn numerology

GBV played Black Cat 2/17/01, and were scheduled to play 9:30 7/13/02 before postponing.  
 
 New Pornographers played Black Cat 2/17/02 and returned to DC 7/13/03. This parallel scheduling is even more striking when considering GBV inexplicably played Live at Penn just one day earlier.  Is this all a coincidence or is something else going on here?

I don't know what all the GBV hoopla is all about, they sucked ass on Penn. Ave., Please tell me they are a club band and that was just a bad night for them. I did figure out though that they could count to four since they did it before every single frickin song.
