Paging Venerable Bede, Bob Pollard & Marchdoe...
« on: July 22, 2003, 11:53:00 am »
From gbv.com

Do You Have A Golden Ticket?

The first 20,000+ copies of Earthquake Glue on CD will be numbered and contain a limited edition sticker. But that's not all folks, in the tradition of Willie Wonka 25 copies of the CD will contain a Golden Ticket, which will entitle the winner to a free copy of the GBV Box Set - Hardcore UFOs - to be released in the fall.

Thanks for the news, on another GBV note, their webmaster confirmed no DC show on 9/6 and a full tour will come in the late fall.

So they will be back -- I don't need to go to Phillie?

 Thanks, BP!

well, you should go to the philly show because it's gbv and the shins.

Yes, yes, I know.  But I will likely have a chance at a free weekend on Martha's vineyard, and that's a deal I'd like to take (though I much prefer Nantucket!).

You could e-mail Matador.

Or you could ask on www.velvetrope.com  --  but they'd probably give you a hefty newbie smackdown.

Well I wont bother with all that, but I am betting that 20,000 is not all that limited for a GBV album.

"More dirt on "Hardcore UFOs" (and NOTHING is set in stone yet):

 -- one disc live
 -- one disc unreleased
 -- one disc Matador A's and B's
-- one disc Greatest Hits, chosen by Bob/
-- one disc 'Forever Since Breakfast'
-- one DVD viz. 'Watch Me Jumpstart' expanded w/ all the videos

and a perfect-bound booklet a la 'Slanted Luxe'

 it's gonna be hot

 Patrick"
