Has anyone checked out this site yet?  http://soundcloud.com/

It a new site that's being setup with the distribution of music in mind.  It's got the traditional upload and post your tracks for users to listen to, along with a smidgen of social networking.  The pop-up comments on tracks are a bit amusing.

It's also positioning itself as an alternative to YouSendIt, by allowing people to send out tracks within the system via distribution lists.

And lastly, it's got a dropbox widget that bloggers can add to their sites, where artists can submit tracks directly to them.

Pretty cool as it supports a wide variety of digital files including AIFF and the artist can allow public tracks to be downloaded.

I finding searching of specific genres a bit tedious partly because it allows for self tagging of tracks.  It's a bit heavy on the bedroom electronic music producer/DJ at the moment.  But, that's kinda always the case with these types of sites.

It's still in development but a pretty cool site in general...

There are some Phoenix remixes on the site as well and Sloan has been using to post rarities.
