Well, I've been here three weeks now and here's some reasons to love Ireland.......
1.
You're shopping in Dunne's (supermarket) and Belle & Sebastian is playing as muzak!
2.
The sun is shining brightly with just an odd cottonball cloud in the sky, yet it's raining quite hard!
3.
You're waiting for a bus into town and look at the schedule posted at the bus stop. It says the next one is 14:15 and the one after that 14:55. A bus shows up at 14:35!!!!! Was the first one 20 mins late or second one 20 mins early? Who cares??? It's delightful nonetheless.
4.
The direction signs for traffic are all in kilometres yet the speed warning signs in mph!
5.
"NO RIGHT/LEFT TURN" means, "UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO" evidently.
6.
In business, "right, lovely, leave it with me and I'll definately ring you tomorrow" translates to, "you'll never fucking hear from me again"
7.
Like anywhere else, all roads have names. Only in Ireland (well Cork for sure) they don't bother putting the name of the road anywhere on the road, so a map is basically useless. I won't go into maps themselves because that's a whole other topic, apart from pointing out that a junction (intersection), crossover bridge or roundabout is anyones guess when it comes to a map.
8.
CHOCOLATE AND BEER.
